     Sarah Michelle Gellar was born on April 14, 1977, in New York City. After small, uncredited parts in films like Over the Brooklyn Bridge and High Stakes, Sarah was cast as the teenage version of Jacqueline Bouvier in the made-for-TV movie on the former First Lady, 1991's A Woman Named Jackie. Sarah Michelle Gellar also appeared in the short-lived 1992 television drama, Swans Crossing, along with Mira Sorvino. Already practically a TV veteran with at least 100 commercials to her credit (including a McDonald's controversy), Sarah Michelle Gellar was gaining even more recognition with female soap opera fans, thanks to her role in All My Children. But if it's any consolation to Sarah, her biggest role to date was only an audition away. Sarah was aiming for the role of Cordelia in Buffy the Vampire Slayer, but after her audition, it was clear that Sarah Michelle Gellar was meant to play the lead. Later Sarah Michelle Gellar did films like 1997's I Know What You Did Last Summer and Scream 2, as well as other teen flicks like 1999's Cruel Intentions, Simply Irresistible, Scooby-Doo and The Grudge. Sarah Michelle Gellar also made an uncredited appearance in the Freddie Prinze Jr. vehicle, She's All That (1999).
